The World Bank's report (BB) to “Doing Business-1818x2>, which was released today on October 31st 2017, highlights the significant progress the Republic of Kosovo has achieved in improving the business environment in Kosovo.
The report has been distributed by former Trade Minister Hykmete Bajrami, who has said he has done a great job during past government.
Kosovo has scored a high rise in the overall ranking at the global level, where from the 60th place last year, we are now ranked 40th. Significantly, in 2014 Kosovo ranked 86th in this report. This report takes into account the reforms made by 1 Central 2016 through May 31st, 2017<18x1>, Bajrami wrote.
According to her, Kosovo is also listed in the top of the reformist countries, which have scored mostly progress in improving the business environment at a global level.
This is fantastic news for the Republic of Kosovo, and I as the former Minister of Trade and Industry am very happy that we have done a huge job during our entire government mandate to reach this high ranking level, confirmed by the World Bank. MTI has been co-ordinating the process of improving the business environment in the country” has written the former minister.
The World Bank's Doing Business report is an important mechanism for monitoring the progress of various states in improving the business environment. The ten indicators of the World Bank's Doing Business Report assess governance and the ease of doing business in a host of legal, regulatory and operational areas.
These improvements are the result of the Kosovo Government's continued commitment, the MTI Task Force to improve the business environment and the National Economic Development Council. A great thanks goes to the USAID project “Parterity for Development”, which has given us considerable support in the whole process.
Improving the business environment in our country has been a top priority of the past government, and we are proud that we have achieved extraordinary success in this direction”, Bajrami has clarified.
