The Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament voted today for eight months of legislative elections, which were scheduled for November 1st and will announce in the future a new date for presidential elections.
This vote took place a month after holding the independence referendum, which has caused an unusual crisis between Erbali and federal authorities.
Baghdad has recently deployed troops in many areas that have been controlled for years by Kurdish fighters (weightmargas).
The Kurdistan Parliament has decided during the session to postpone parliamentary elections by eight months”, said Bahzad Zebari, deputy of the Kurdistan Islamic Union.
