Although there has been a decade since Kosovo became part of CEFTA, the deal, which regulates free movement of goods, Kosovo businesses are facing numerous difficulties for exporting their products. This is because some of the countries which are part of CEFTA are obstructing Kosovo products through non-tariff barriers, Koha Ditore writes today.
Kosovo became a member of CEFTA in July 2007, eight months after signing the membership agreement. At that world, the membership agreement was signed by UNMIK on behalf of Kosovo.
After independence, in 2008, Kosovo institutions changed customs stamps, while Kosovo's representation in CEFTA continued to take place through UNMIK. Failure to change Kosovo's mode of representation in CEFTA became a problem for Kosovo businesses, due to non-recognition of documents from countries like Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina...
