In the case of the 20th anniversary of the 1997 student demonstrations in Pristina, Alter Habitus Institute for Social and Cultural Studies, Centre for Studies in Southeast Europe, University of Graz and Pristina University organise international conferences on social movements in Kosovo, during and after socialism.
Social movements, mainly presented through demonstrations in Kosovo, were organised at different political periods, revealing differences on the political and ideological level of time and leaving traces in society and politics.
To discuss these topics, social scientists, civil society activists, artists and art historians from the country, the region and Europe present their work and discuss various aspects of the social movements in Kosovo.
The conference is structured on panel discussions, presentation of research projects and a book promotion and offers Albanian-Albanian translation.
