Hoti Apostolova: We are opposition, but we are not Vetevendosje

European Union Office chief Natalia Apostolova met with representatives of the Democratic League of Kosovo parliamentary group, where the discussion was continuing to implement European agenda reforms, visa liberalisation issue, fighting corruption, and dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. LDK parliamentary group chief, [...]
LDK parliamentary group chief Avdullah Hoti said that even though they are opposition to the Assembly, they will not do the opposition as Vetevendosje has done, as they will be co-operative in the important processes for Kosovo. As for dialogue with Serbia, Hoti said he supports this process, but not the creation of a unity group
“As you know, you have a partner here, the leading reliable partner here in Kosovo, in Parliament. We are an opposition party, but we are not Vetevendosje... As for the new format of dialogue we have not yet seen a clear structure by the Government, we will be very transparent in this respect. But in principle we will not support any form of the Unity Group, we leave the Government responsible for dialogue, but with full involvement of the” Parliament, he said.
While Vjosa Osmani said they too are concerned about the Assembly, which is not working on its full capacities. Speaking of the work of the Foreign Affairs Commission, which she leads, she said she would invite the European Integration and Foreign Minister to discuss the Government's strategy in terms of demarcation. While he said they are concerned about conflicting statements by government officials on the issue.
“We are planning to invite both the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of European Integration to discuss the Kosovo Government strategy in connection with the border demarcation agreement. We are concerned that conflicting statements are being made by various ministers in Government, including the prime minister and president. We hear different ideas, different approaches, and I think it's not serious at all about a serious issue. Our commission priorities are to make sure that we pressure them, to resolve this issue as soon as possible, because the sooner they do so, the sooner we will get visa liberalisation”, Osmani said.
