He during a joint conference with Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuicicicq in Belgrade today has voiced concern for the European Commission's declaration concerning Kosovo and Catalonia.
President Vuciq has said that when I go to Brussels I will ask why he does in Catalonia, while in Kosovo (the independence pillar) it can be accepted without a referendum?
What can I tell my people about this, when I see the future of my country in the EU because of the kind of society, the best economy and other reasons, while for that Serbs will never have answers. When they thought they could revis the borders in the Balkans, since it is not the European Union, they have been ridiculed, but today they cannot make fun of the bear's knock at the door of the house”, Vuciq was expressed.
According to him, the situation is much more serious, so Serbs must fight for their future, work with Albanian neighbours, be grateful for the support of all European countries -- Spain, Slovakia, Romania, Cyprus and Greece -- that have not recognised Kosovo's independence.
Greek President Pavlopoulos, on the other hand, said that respect for UN Security Council Resolution 1244 is crucial for Kosovo. He has reiterated that the case of Kosovo and Cyprus cannot be compared at all -- that there are two different cases like night to day.
In the case with Albania, he stressed that the <x0ky country disputes (Greece ʹour clarification) the fundamental property right”, and for Macedonia, he added that “is unacceptable that a state aimed at EU membership disputes existing borders”.
