Food in France's supermarkets should be handed over to charity organisations, as the new law of this state says, reports The Independent”, Periscopi broadcasts.
French shops are now required to donate unquenchable food to charitable organisations and food banks.
This law was unanimously voted by the French Senate on Wednesday after a petition was launched by Courbevoie adviser Arash Derambas.
Those companies that fail to implement this law will be sentenced to fines of up to 3750 euros.
Doorbar is now seeking to get a broad law in the EU that prohibits supermarket food waste.
He said: “The next step is to ask President Franz Holland to pressure Jean-Claude Juncker and extend this law across the EU”. /Periscopi/
