Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj has written a letter to the state police's effectiveness today. Xhafaj has also written an e-mail address that will serve as a direct communication opportunity for every thought, concrete suggestion, or concern in the function of improving work and the role of the State Police.

Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj's full letter to every police worker:

Dear State Police officers,

I salute you and express my gratitude for your noble work, in the service of citizens to maintain order and public safety.

I appreciate endlessly, every supportive and encouraging message I have received from many State Police officers for the return to the office of the interior minister. Politically, your expectations for tomorrow are more binding for me.

Dignity, devotion, integrity, and determination are the qualities we must guarantee in efforts to establish public order and security.

I believe strongly and deeply convinced that there are many women and men in the ranks of the State Police who work with dedication and honesty, in defending the rights and legitimate interests of the citizen. Gratitude and appreciation will be my minister to all of them.

So our first challenge is security and guaranteeing professionalism within the police forces themselves.

We'll have to separate from the healthy state police body every gangrened member, connected to crime, put into his service or sleep before the crime.

For this reason, my first act as Interior Minister marked the launch of the process for organising Vetting for all state police officers. It will be part of only professionally capable people and with high moral integrity.

I encourage and welcome from you every thought, concrete suggestion, or concern to whoever it is, in the function of improving the work, role and reputation of the State Police. Allow me also to express gratitude through you to your parents, to your marriage mates, and to your children, who are the main support of your daily sacrifice.

Thanks once again, all of you, women and honest men of the State Police, for everything you've done and continue to serve the citizens and the country, I assure you all of my support in your daily work to meet the challenges ahead.

We have no opportunity but to triumph over these challenges on behalf of the best tomorrow of our parents and children. On our shoulders lies the European future.
