He is only 31 years old and can become one of Europe's most powerful leaders.
Sebastian Kurz became a known name for national and international politics in 2013, when only 27 years of age became Austria's foreign minister
He drew worldwide attention after photographs with his counterparts, including US Secretary of State John Kerry and Iranian Minister Javad Zarif.
Although small, with a population the size of London, Austria is ahead of countries like Great Britain, Germany and Canada according to the World Bank.
In fact, Vienna has been leading the lifestyle survey since 2010.
Kurz has defended his role in important Iran agreement talks, a round of which were held in Vienna
Now, Kurz could become the Chancellor of his rich and powerful country at such a young age, a goal that seems more and more likely to arrive.
Kurz took over power of his Party (ÖVP) and decided for snap elections in October (which were later approved by parliament).
Kurz has also caused debates with some of his political positions, such as calls to strengthen EU external borders and end the salvation of refugees in the Mediterranean by NGOs, prompting German newspapers to accuse the politician of being “hearty” and insensitive.
