Drenna's big problems. Will the future chairman choose?

The future leader of Drenas, the renowned metal processing municipality, will have challenges to provide solutions.

An ambulance that has been turned into animal food storage depots, 145,000 items without permission, environment and water, will be the challenges of a four-year term for the future chairman of Drenas. The extended municipality in downtown Kosovo is populated by 73 thousand people and in size compared to the municipality of Suhareka. The data shows that Drenas' government has managed to register 1.1m euros in revenues in contrast to Suhareka, which has estimated 1.9m euros.

In Drenas the central government has built an industrial park that presents potential for the development of the municipality. For the new chairman, the challenge will be the treatment of the sewer out of the park. The sewage from this park ends up in the village of Corretica, polluting the environment.

The other job generator in Drenas, the Boyle Ferrnikelli processing giant in the past two years, has faced problems because of the decline in the market's nicotine price. The current government has decided to free the company from municipal taxes to enable continued work. For governance after elections, the debate on whether these taxes should be returned will continue, as is expected to increase investment and agricultural subsidies.

Without permission and infrastructure construction

 The involvement of policy people in high construction and overcoming construction permits has consistently dominated the challenges of chairman Drenas.

Research shows that Drenas has 14 thousand and 81 objects without permission and 6 constructions in the city's existing residences.

Treatment of these facilities could bring thousands of euros in the municipality.

In development of the Drenas infrastructure, there is a big problem with parking lot because the space near the bus station used for parking cars when there is water.

Dobroshevc village dwellers, Bainca, Glanasele, Abri, etc. have problems with sidewalks, which causes fear for residents because children are forced to walk on the road to school.

The challenge in the city's infrastructure continues to remain the city's entry and exit columns, and the uncertain railway, which crosses the city and many people have died of accidents.

Research showed that Drenas has 31 schools and a nursery, 29 of the schools work in two shifts. The challenge for the new chairman is doubling school spaces to ensure education process with only one change.

Health and Social Health

Construction of a health centre in the village of Negrovc and the division of parcels for martyrs' families are projects that have not yet managed to be finalised by municipalities. Three mandates earlier, municipal power had promised to build the martyrs' neighborhood by sharing the land and promising construction of infrastructure in this neighbourhood. The project continues to remain on paper and a good opportunity to win votes, promising to resolve it.

Research shows that 73 thousand city dwellers are not guaranteed mammography and ultrasound service.

Photos from the center of family medicine show that there is a shortage of equipment, while beds are outdated and toilets are unclean.

In Drenas' failings and the biggest power challenges is the functioning of the family medicine centre in Negrovc.

In the village of Jakup Krasniqi in Negrovc 4 years ago, construction of the ambulance was under way. The facility, which had dedicated 45 thousand euros to the municipality, was built on the property of a village whose property compensation was promised. Following the failure of negotiations, the landowner has banned works, while the municipality's investment object is now used for animal food storage.
