Details about the operation have given the leading doctor, who has operated on Fatmir Sejdiu.

The doctor, of Cardio-Torakal Surgery at the American Hospital, Besnik Kojicic, says the operation has gone well and that the situation of former Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu is stable.

And meanwhile Fatmir Sejdiu will stay one week at the Cardiology Clinic at the American Hospital.

Former President Sejdiu also held the post of president of the Democratic League of Kosovo after Ibrahim Rugova's death, coming to its helm in 2006.

From the position of Kosovo President Sejdiu had led status talks in Vienna, which were held with the Serbian side of international mediating, and since 2008 had resulted in Kosovo's declaration of independence.
