CEC Chairman Valdete Daka has praised the October 22nd local elections as one of the best days for Kosovo democracy, while said their work has already been oriented into announcing final results.
She made it known during a media conference that the Counting and Results Centre has accepted sensitive electoral material from all municipalities, and will soon begin counting conditional votes, by mail and votes of persons with special needs.
Our “Priories is initially announcing in time the final results of the mayoral elections, so that we can be in step with the time to manage to prepare the second round of these elections. We want to inform all candidates that the Central Election Commission will provide maximum transparency as a step towards increasing credibility in the election process. The Central Election Commission will soon begin with publishing all copies of scanning results forms for candidates and final results forms. So, all candidates, whether in competition for the Comune head or for the Communist Assembly, will be able to see their results for each poll by electronically reviewing copies of these forms that have come from the” polling sites, Daka said.
It has announced that since tomorrow, the Central Election Commission will begin with intensive preparations for organising the second round of elections, which will be held on November 19th.
Our joint engagement on Election Day also made us optimistic about the second round of municipal elections to be held on November 19th. Starting tomorrow, the Central Election Commission will begin with intensive preparations for organising this second round of elections. We already know that in most of Kosovo's municipalities we will have the second round, and for that we need the joint commitment and support of all”, Daka said.
Local elections were held last Sunday, while the second round of runoff will be held on November 19th.
