In an exclusive interview given to the newspaper “Voice” Eurodeputet Catalonia, Josep Maria Tericabras, has said the Catalonian Parliament will today declare the country's independence by living the will of over 90 per cent of its citizens, who voted in Sunday's referendum. Aware of the depression and possible killings by the Spanish government, the Catalonian people have chosen their way to independence. At this point they seek protection and support from the international community, while from first recognitions they also expect from Kosovo and Great Britain.
Catalonia will expect one of the first recognitions from Kosovo after declaring independence today. So said in an exclusive interview given to the newspaper “Voice” Eurodepute Catalonjas Josep Maria Tericabras.
Tericabras has discovered to the newspaper “Voice” that unless something extraordinary happens to change that Catalonia will declare its independence today, thus living the will of over 90 percent of citizens who voted in Sunday's referendum.
To do that, he has said that they are prepared to die. However, he has added that he does not believe that the conflict will continue in war as in the case of Kosovo.
We're not the ones who took the guns, this is the other side, the Spanish government. They're beating us up, maybe they'll kill some of us. But there will be no war. We don't want war, we're peaceful, so I hope this will open the eyes of the media and many other states for the international community to finally protect us, because we're victims”, Tericabas said.
Aware of what may happen to you by the Spanish government, although with little hope, Terricabras has said he expects from international institutions to protect and have a response.
At the end of the day, Terricebras has spoken about Serbia's recognition of Kosovo. He has said it will be absolutely and undoubtedly binding for Serbia before it becomes a full member of the European Union to recognise Kosovo's independence.
