After more than two years since the Special Court was voted in the Kosovo Assembly, President Hashim Thaci has erupted on charges against the international community.
He for the first time in public says internationals imposed the Special Court on Kosovo to please Serbia and Russia, KTV reports.
At a table organised by civil society on the subject of the Kosovo Special Court's public perception: risks and opportunities, the president said he had decided to lead an unfair process against Kosovo and were deceived by internationals who made promises in exchange for special and did not realise any of them.
These charges of the president could not bear British Ambassador to Kosovo Ruairi O'Connell, who has launched the hall until the president continued his speech.
KTV has asked the British Embassy in Pristina whether the ambassador's action was in response to the speech, or out of the hall because of his agenda, and the answer from them was that the ambassador had to leave immediately.
However, the embassy has not issued the case without opposing the president's speech, which criticised the international community for treason.
Kosovo has not been given promises concerning the Special Court and it is not fair to claim the opposite. Membership in international organisations is based on specific criteria for membership of individual organisations, the Embassy's response reported.
The British diplomatic mission, which is currently led by Ruari Oconell, says: “Special Court was Kosovo's response to Marty's report assumptions. It was an important step to show Kosovo's readiness to reveal the truth about what happened during the conflict. ”
Despite the ambassador's release of the hall, President Thaci continued his discourse in the same tone, Time.net conveys. He said the Special Court has maximum co-operation with Serbia and the war crimes office in Belgrade, until with Kosovo co-operation is minimal.
Meanwhile, the chief of the Special Court's Specialised Chambers Information and Public Communication Unit said specialised rooms have the mandate to conduct fair judgment and ensure a fair process.
“Special procedure is those who investigate and have to file charges and we, in turn, in Kosovo's Specialised Chambers, have the mandate to conduct a fair trial and make sure there is a fair process. And all aspects of judicial processes are being established and there is a safe, independent, impartial trial. Also, to deal with the participation of the victims and other aspects... One thing I want to stress is that we are a Court of Law and our mandate is a fair trial, basically, the mandate is to inform, objectively inform what is going on and provide all information about the procedure and to provide current information”, Avis Beneš.
Otherwise, in the findings of the report, which was released, in terms of public perception of the Special Court, 51 per cent of Albanian citizens are said to be willing to protest in the event of presenting the first charges and that the feeling of injustice on the part of respondents is in large measure.
Meanwhile, people's frustrations could lead to civil unrest and that citizens could engage in obstructing Kosovo authorities, international acts, the Special Court, from prosecution against those who have been brought to an indictment.
