Hitler's personal bodyguard was the first to see his lifeless body. He has detailed the last minutes of the life of the fascist dictator and the last days of his cruel rule.
Rochus Misch's autobiography explains how the Nazi leader said that all soldiers gave up their loyalty and that he wanted his body burned just before killing themselves.
Misch was the last surviving member of Hitler's circle.
The notorious leader was in the bunker on April 30th 1945, when General Keitel said the army failed to break the Soviet siege in Berlin and that the end of World War II was imminent.
Shortly thereafter, Misch listened to Hitler speaking with Nazi party official Martin Bormann, where he warned him that their rule was coming to an end.
That same day, he ordered that soldiers be freed from the oath of loyalty”.
Hitler had already told his assistant that he did not want his body to be publicly mistreated, as he had done with Mussolini, and that he wanted his corpse to burn”.
The bodyguard confessed the moment he found Hitler's body.

Misch was kidnapped by the Soviet Red Army and imprisoned in labor camps for eight years after trying to escape
