Lawyer Azem Vlasi has said the US will is not being seen to evolve in Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, but even if Kosovo happens, it should not think it has its support.
“Akoma does not see any US will expressed to be involved in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. Even if that happens, the Kosovo side should not automatically receive it as Kosovo's support in dialogue with Serbia”, he has said.
Several European Union and US states, Vlasi says, are interested in Serbia moving towards European integration, but Serbia wants that will of Western states, he continues, wants to take advantage of new benefits in dialogue with Kosovo.
“In Serbia constantly talk about dialogue as resolving the Kosovo issue, while we and the Western world consider the Kosovo issue resolved. Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state. The talks could continue only for normalising interstate relations between Kosovo and Serbia”, the lawyer has indicated.
Vlasi says Kosovo should focus on three issues: removing Kosovo from the constitution of Serbia, not preventing Kosovo's membership in international organisations and having mutual recognition.
“It is the last moment for Kosovo to focus on three issues: the first one -- the removal of Kosovo from Serbia's constitution, where it figures as Vojvodina. Second, Serbia is obliged not to prevent Kosovo from implementing membership procedures in international organisations. Third, Serbia means a deadline when complete interstate normalisation will be realised, meaning mutual accession between Kosovo and Serbia and diplomatic relations”, Vlasi has declared, among other things.
