A gun attack at the royal palace in Saudi Arabia has left two security guards dead and three others injured.
The aggressor, armed with Kalashnikov, came down from his car outside the western gate of Al Salaam Palace in Jeddah and shot security guards. The identified author as Mansour al-Amri, a Saudi citizen, was killed by royal guards, who left him dead in the country.
Saudi King Salman is currently outside the realm on a state visit to Russia. Royal family does official work only during summer months at the palace.
The US Embassy had warned American citizens Saturday following unconfirmed reports Saturday of an attack on the area. No information on the motive of the event is known.
