The European Commission announced on Wednesday the grant of around 120m euros to help European states protect public spaces in their cities, increasingly under the target of jihadist attacks “low cost” as the Barcelona case.
The action plan, presented by Brussels, envisions 18.5m euros since 2017 for international projects to improve public space protection and 100m euros in 2018 to assist cities in investments in the security issue.
In July 2016, a man who was driving a single truck killed 86 people, taking in front of the crowd in Nice, (South France), during the national holiday ceremony associated with the fireworks launch on July 14th.
Some attacks have long affected Europe in places frequented by the public, such as the case at Rambla's famous hospital in Barcelona in August 2917.
Attacks in public places have also taken place in recent months in London, Manchester, Stockholm or beyond in Marseilles.
