Alliance for Albanians, EUSA rally together DUI in runoff

The Alliance for Albanians and Movement Besa has made public today the details of the agreement to support each other's candidates in the second election round on 29 October, when and it will become known who will lead predominantly Albanian municipalities, such as Skopje's two municipalities, Sarajevo and Cair and [...] municipalities.
Election chiefs from the Alliance for Albanians and Movement Besa said the coalition aims to empower Albanians' vote, since Albanians will determine who will lead municipalities.
For the next fifteen years, the Democratic Union for Integration has absolute power, whether at the central or local level, in all majority Albanian municipalities other than the one in Struga, and I consider that the main responsibility for this mismanagement, for this developmental statement belongs to DUI and sʹka as if we are not the opposition to this dismanagement of power by DUI”, Elmi Ashir, chief of the Alliance's election staff for Albanians, has said.
While Africa Gashi from the Besa Movement has said Sunday's elections on 29 October will present a test for a coalition with the Alliance for Albanians and the Besa Movement in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
“I hope this spirit that is now being built to be productive and in the future to be a coalition for the future. It's a test for us and I hope that even in the future it will bring about changes”, Gashi said.
On the basis of the election result in the first election round, the Democratic Union for Integration, which was in a coalition with the Social Democratic League, leads in most Albanian majority municipalities, though if the votes that the Alliance for Albanians has won and the Besa Movement are gathered, these parties jointly appear before DUI.
The Democratic Union for Integration, which in the run-off will face Besa Movement in 7 municipalities and the Alliance for Albanians in 5 other municipalities after publishing this coalition, have stressed that they will continue their coalition with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev's Social Democrats.
Arber Ademi, chief of DUI's election staff, for Radio Free Europe says the party's candidates in most of the municipalities in the run-off have emerged first, expressing confidence that citizens will express that will in the second round of elections.
“With the Social Democratic League of Macedonia we have a preliminary agreement for mutual support since before the first round, and we believe that that agreement will reflect on the second round as well because we believe that this agreement is in good and the interest of citizens”.
“We deeply believe that citizens will know to evaluate the programme with which every candidate in certain municipalities, such as the professional and personal credibility of our candidates”, Arber Ademi points out.
In the first round of local elections, the Democratic Union for Integration has won in two municipalities -- the one Kricova received support in, and from other Albanian parties -- not to jeopardise the direction of the municipality by Albanians, while winning the municipality of Plasnica.
