While it continues to be rare in Kosovo to see a woman driving a bus, this is common in European states.
It is not rare to see Albanian males driving buses in Western countries, but there is no shortage of opportunities like Vjolca Gashi, which is one of the rare Albanian drivers driving the bus.
For over eight years now, Vjollca has been practicing this profession in Biel, Switzerland, the city in which she has lived for 25 years.
In an interview for the Rtv21.tv portal, she has talked about her profession and the challenges she has faced.
The Kosovo driver has the permission to drive a bus since 2006, but works since 2009 in the town of Biel.
The feeling is very special for two reasons, my desire is to drive heavy-weight vehicles, the second the great will for this job, and the service of the people I live in and work”, she has confessed to her profession, writes Rtv21. tv
Vjollca Gashi has shown that her family has supported her, and especially the husband she said was the greatest motive she has had, writes Rtv21.tv.tv.
It was my dream of driving buses! My biggest motivation was from my husband”, she showed.
She did not hesitate to tell about the way her profession was expected from family and society.
Very well, my family is very proud as well my people are happy, but other nationalities -- 18x1>, she stressed.
Vjollca Gashi said the bus driver's profession would also be exercised in Kosovo.
I had very much worked in Kosovo to offer us conditions like the state of Switzerland! Our working conditions are good, and the work is done with great seriousness and responsibility”, she said. /21Media
