Rama today travels towards Turkey for NATO Summit, Trump and Alliance leaders in Ankara on defence and Ukraine

Prime Minister Edi Rama will travel towards Ankara today to attend the NATO Summit, which will take place on 7 July and 8 July. According to Turkish media, President Recep Tayip Erdoğan will hold bilateral meetings with 32 heads of state and government, among them with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Under the summit, Erdo Staran is expected to meet with US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, retired British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Council President Antonio Costa, Finnish President Alexander Stubbbb, Slovak President Peter Pelegrin, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev, and Montenegrin Prime Minister Miloj Spaj, reports R.
According to the agenda, one of the most important meetings will be the head-to-face between Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump, who will be followed by a joint press conference.
Today's evening (July 7th), Turkish President and his wife, Emine Erdoğan, will host an official dinner for heads of state and government participating, while on July 8th leaders will hold the summit's plenary session after the traditional family photo.
Summit NATO will focus on strengthening the Alliance's defence capacities, increasing defence investments, fighting in Ukraine, and the security challenges facing the Euro-Atlantic region. The leaders of the 32 NATO member states, together with ministers, senior diplomats and representatives of international organisations, will participate in this meeting.
