Pets (Noodles) are related to salmonella explosion

According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and the European Authority for Food Safety, cases have been reported in 14 countries, including the United Kingdom. By June 27th, 106 cases have been confirmed, of which 29 in Britain.

The blast has disproportionally affected children and young people. About two thirds of the cases are related to children under the age of 10, while at least 49 people have needed hospital treatment.

According to the ongoing investigation, the most alleged products are institutes of chicken taste from the same brand, though authorities have not yet finally closed the investigation into the source of contamination. In some countries, patients have reported that they have consumed the same poultry products, while in Germany and Lithuania the presence of the same kind of salmonele has been discovered in chicken taste pie and “ken chicken”.

The first case was identified in November last year, while the alarm was first raised from Denmark in March. The bacteria type has been identified as Salmonella Stanley ST2045.

Cases have been reported in Austria, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

Authorities say some patients, including children, have consumed their petals without preparing them with boiling water but dry water, only with packing spices. Such consumption can increase the risk of infection, especially when the product is not destined to be eaten unprepared.

In some countries, alleged products have been withdrawn or converted from the market to reduce the possibility of new cases. However, experts warn that infections may still appear, as these products have long usage terms and may still be preserved in family kitchens.

Health authorities urge citizens to follow carefully the instruction in packing during the preparation of instinct petals and not consume them unprepared if the product is not marked as ready for consumption.

Salmonella is a bacterial infection that usually affects the digestive leaf. More common symptoms include nausea, stomach pain, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Most people experience symptoms within a few days, but in more serious cases recovery may last longer.

Young children, elderly people and those with weakened immune systems are more vulnerable to complications and may need hospital treatment.

Experts stress that good food hygiene remains essential: hand washing, preparing food according to instructions, full cooking of chicken products, and safe food conservation are important measures to reduce the risk of food infections.
