Kosovo expulsion, 700 euros fine, foundation set for stops in Gazimestan

The 36 Serbs charged in this case appeared before the court, where the verdict was made.

The court ruled that the accused be expelled for three years from Kosovo and fined 700 euros in fines for wrongdoing.

During Vidovdan's note in Gazimestan, near Pristina, on June 28th, Kosovo Police detained 37 people, with the argument that they “tested the move by cheering provocative slogans with elements of inciting hatred”.

One person was filed a fine, while the other 36 were prosecuted before the court, but were not held in custody.

Unlike Serbs from Kosovo, from Serbia and countries in the region traditionally gather every June 28th in Gazimestan to commemorate the Battle of Kosovo, the battle against Ottomans on 1389 respectively.

At the introduction of Gazimestan, Kosovo police distributed a statement to visitors saying that no “maintenance and display of various symbols representing or inciting interethnic, religious or political hatred” will be tolerated.

Some of those present cheered “Kosovo is Serbia” and sang songs dedicated to Kosovo and Vidovdan.

Kosovo police have recently initiated a case for criminal work “The inflammation of divisions and failure to endure”, following suspicions that a Serbian citizen has published a video containing content that promotes hatred during the manifestoism held in Gazimestan.

According to police, on June 30th 2026, information has been accepted from intelligence that the suspect, during the June 28th appearance in the Obilic Maze, has carried out and published a video with content allegedly inciting hatred.

In consultation with the competent prosecutor, the case has been initiated, while verifications have shown that the suspect had left Kosovo on June 28th through the border crossing at Jarinje.
