Embolo breaks silence after red card to Argentina

Breel Embolo continues to be emotionally affected by his expulsion into the World Cup quarterfinals towards Argentina.
The Swiss striker, former Schalke 04 player and Borussia Montengladbach, who joined the Stade Rennes in the summer of 2025, has broken the silence on social networks after the removal of Switzerland from the tournament.
"Ende has no words to describe the frustration I feel", the 29-year-old assailant declared, adding that he had had to take time to process what happened after the dramatic elimination.
In the quarterfinal duel held in Kansas City, Embolo was punished with the second yellow card in the 72nd minute of simulation, a decision made following the intervention of the VAR system.
With one less player on the field, Switzerland failed to resist and was defeated 3-1 after the extra time from Argentina, which then continued its journey to the semifinals, Telegraph reports Periscope.
Despite the bitter outcome, Embolo remains optimistic about the future.
This loss hurts, but it won't define us. We will continue to fight and we will return stronger", the Swiss assailant wrote.
However, reaching the quarterfinals represents Switzerland's most successful campaign at a World Cup in recent decades. /Periscope/
