Smuggling in Dubrava, suspected vehicle drugs detected

At the Dubrava corrective Centre, a case of attempted smuggling inside the institution has been prevented.
The case, as reported in a Facebook report, occurred yesterday around 16:40, during routine raids at Gate 0, when correctional officials, in co-operation with the K9 Coordination Unit of Kosovo (SHKK), have stopped for control a work truck that was turning prisoners out of work.
During the detailed search of the vehicle, two car bags of suspected narcotic substance hidden in the vehicle floor have been discovered.
According to the SHKK, given the random circumstances allegedly involved are some prisoners who enjoy the right to work outside the institution. Disciplinary measures have been taken against them, and benefits have been banned until the outcome of the investigative procedures.
“After identifying the case, corrective officials have immediately undertaken the necessary procedural actions, initiated internal investigations, and have announced the Kosovo Police, which is conducting relevant investigations concerning the case. Kosovo's corrective service remains committed to combating illegal phenomena and ensuring order, security and institutional integrity in all correcting institutions”, the report said.
