Prince William officially becomes a billionaire, his wealth exceeds that of King Charles

Prince William, heir to the British throne, has a net fortune of $1.6 billion, according to the new annual accounts by Sovereign Grant, overcoming his father, King Charles III.
William received this amount thanks to the Duke of Cornwall, a private royal property he received in 2022 when Charles became king. According to published data, William had private revenues of $28.5 million in 2025-2026, and since becoming Prince of Wales, he has reportedly paid more than $26 million in taxes.
Unlike him, Charles has not yet achieved billionaire status. According to the latest Sunday Times rich list, the personal wealth of the 77-year-old king was estimated at $846m, which is almost $40m more than a year ago.
The Cornwall Duke is William's main source of income and covers his official, charitable and private activities, Kate Middleton and their three children. Wealth was created in 1337 by King Edward III to provide income for the heir of the throne and today includes about 205 square miles of land in more than 20 circuits throughout the United Kingdom.
According to the Times, William plans to sell 20 per cent of Dukat in the next ten years to channel more than $670m into housing and conservation projects in Cornwall, Dartmoour, the Scilly Islands, Bath and Kennington.
There are so many good things we can do. I try to make sure that I give priority to things that will improve the lives of people living in these areas.“, he said.
