Livepool has formalised the appointment of Andon Irala as the team's new coach. The 43-year-old technician replaces Arne Slot on the bench of the “The Reds”, signing a two-year contract with the club from Anfield.

Irala is transferred to Merseyside after three successful seasons in running Bournemouth. The Spanish coach wrapped up his adventure on the southern coast by leading Bournemouth to sixth place in the championship, the best ranking in club history in the English football elite, which also assured him of participation in the upcoming UEFA season Europe League.

Iraola's name immediately became the main favourite to take over Liverpool's leadership after the club decided to dismiss Arne Slot after a disappointing season. Before accepting Liverpool's offer, representatives of the Spanish coach also held talks with Crystal Palace FC and Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Known for his dynamic and aggressive style of playing, Irala is expected to bring a new spirit to Liverpool. A considerable part of the fans had expressed dissatisfaction with the team's way of playing under the direction of Slot, especially after failing to defend the title at Premier League.

Liverpool's leaders have already entrusted the new Spanish technonic project with the goal of restoring the team to the most important trophies in England and Europe.
