By accrediting FIFA, but without a visa: Palestinian football president not allowed to enter US

The president of the Palestinian Football Federation, Yibrill Rajoub, has not been granted a visa to enter the United States, despite his having official accreditment for the World Championship.
Rajoub attended the World opening ceremony in Mexico on Thursday evening.
He had also planned to attend tournament matches in the United States, but at the moment remains in Mexico City, as he and several other accredited persons have not yet received their respective visas.
“I don't think it's fair to deny football people from around the world the right to go to World Cup”, said Yibril Rajoub, who is also a senior figure of Palestinian political movement Fatah.
The US State Department has not answered questions about the Rajub visa case, but has indicated that a year ago it imposed new entry restrictions on those who possess Palestinian passports, including individuals employed by Palestinian authorities.
