US nameless ambassador for Kosovo alone, Hovenier declared

Since the US diplomat, Jeffrey Hovenier, has left his post as US Ambassador to Pristina at the end of 2024, representation of the White House in Pristina has remained at the level of duty officer. Kosovo is the only country in the region for which the Trump Administration still nominated a name for the ambassador.
Former Ambassador Jeff Hovenier himself has said the fact that the US has nominated the names for Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina and not for Kosovo is not a reflection of the importance Kosovo has for America.
According to the US diplomat, selecting a name for ambassador is a highly bureaucratic issue and may take a long time.
Hüvenier cautions not to give more attention to this matter at this moment.
“The process of selection, verification and formal nomination of an ambassador included many bureaucratic steps and can often take a long time. The fact that candidates have recently been declared for Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia simply reflects the phase in which those particular candidates are located in the process. This should not be interpreted as a signal for the importance Kosovo has in US politics.”, Havener has said.
However, the American congregator Ritchie Torres has shown great concern about the issue.
In an answer to the Express on Wednesday, Torres has said the Trump Administration has made a serious mistake that no ambassador for Kosovo has nominated and has demanded that it be carried out in the direction of the appointment of a name. / Periscope/
