Iran says Hormuz Strait is closed, warns attacks on ships trying to cross

Iran has declared the Hormuz Strait closed after the United States struck air defence positions and other military targets across the country during a second night of attacks Wednesday, CNN reports.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard threatened to shoot oil tanks and commercial ships trying to cross this waterway.
However, the US Army has rejected the claim of closure, declaring on X that commercial ships continue to enter and exit through the strait.
The new Iranian authority responsible for the strait has stated that the “strait will remain closed until a second announcement”
Due to tensions created by American aggressor forces in the region and last night's announcement by Iran's Armed Forces, the Hormuz District will be closed until further announcement”, said the authority announced last month to oversee a new protocol for crossings on this waterway.
The authority added that the <x0ps who have received transit permits are required to show patience and await further instructions”. / Periscope/
