Costa visit to Kosovo, police tell of roads that can be closed

Kosovo police have announced that on the occasion of official visit to Kosovo by Council of Europe President Antonio Costa will engage the necessary police capacities for ensuring security, maintaining order and public calm, as well as managing and regulating traffic.
To enable the safe development of activities ahead of the visit, police announced they will take temporary measures of control and traffic adjustment.
These measures, according to police, could include short-term circulation cuts in certain road segments, as well as reorientation of traffic on alternative roads, depending on operational needs and security estimates. Kosovo's “Police will work in co-ordination with relevant institutions to ensure the management of the visit and to downplay the impact of security measures on the movement of citizens. In this case, Kosovo Police seek understanding and the co-operation of citizens and all participants in traffic, as well as the respect of police officials on the ground”.
“Kosovo police remain committed to providing security and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens and international officials visiting the Republic of Kosovo”, the report said.
