Major Istanbul operation - 29 arrested for manipulation of public tenders, <x0 associate"of Imamoglu

Under an investigation conducted by Istanbul's General Prosecutor to what he calls the <x0 criminal organisation for the benefit of the mayor, Ekrem ãoğlu”, 29 people have been arrested under suspicion of manipulation of public tender procedures.
According to the prosecutor's official announcement, the investigation relates to alleged activities of an organised criminal structure, which allegedly worked through the company Agac ve Peyzaj A.how., a company linked to the municipality.
Authorities claim that a “fabricated tender system” has been created through this company, with which public procurement procedures have been manipulated and specific subjects illegally favoured.
Under the operation, arrest warrants have been issued for 30 people, of whom 29 have been arrested, while a suspect is abroad and the search is followed, Telegraph reports. Periscope.
Investigations are continuing, while authorities have not yet provided further details on the identity of those arrested or their exact role in the alleged scheme.
By contrast, last year, the mayor of Istanbul and presidential candidate ãomoglu of the Republican People's Party (possitent) were banned by Turkish police under suspicion of corruption, extortion, bribery, money laundering, spying and support of terrorism, especially of the PKK. /Periscope/
