Are Kosovars becoming one of the main communities that receive German citizenship?

The year 2025 has brought a historical record to Barvari, southern Germany, in terms of granting German citizenship. But are Kosovars becoming one of the most integrated and represented communities in this process?
Referenced to data published by the German newspaper “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, about 60 thousand people have received German citizenship in Bahari over the past year, marking the highest level ever recorded in this land.
Among the communities that have benefited most from this process are also citizens of origin from Kosovo. The report shows that around 4100 Kosovars have been equipped with German passports, placing Kosovo in third place for the number of citizenships won, along with Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Before Kosovo, only Turkey is ranked with 6495 citizenship granted and Syria with 4979.
According to the Bavara Statistics Office, the total number of 59573 citizenships given are nearly 10 percent higher compared to the previous year. In the meantime, compared to 2021 and 2022, the figure has doubled, while in the year 2014 it has quadrupled.
Bavari's Interior Minister, Joachim Herrman, has named this development a positive signal for integration into Germany, stressing that obtaining citizenship represents a conscious decision to become part of German society.
However, he has called for restoring the strictest rules for gaining citizenship, proposing that the minimum period of residence be restored from five to eight years.
Currently, reformed law in the summer of 2024 enables applicants to obtain citizenship after five years of residence and maintain dual citizenship.
To obtain the German passport, applicants must witness German-language knowledge, be financially independent, pass the citizenship test and have no criminal precedents. /Albinfo, broadcast Periscope.
