EU, US trade chiefs to meet after warnings of new tariffs

EU Trade Commissioner Maros Shefchovic is expected to meet with US counterpart Jamieson Greer on Tuesday, amid mounting tensions between the bloc and the US following President Donald Trump's announcement of a possible 25% fee for EU vehicles.
Discussions, scheduled ahead of a meeting of G7 trade ministers in Paris, were planned before the latest threat of Trump tariffs, learned Euronews.
But now they give both sides an opportunity to ease tensions after Trump signalled measures that would violate the B trade agreement. E-US achieved last summer in Turnberry, Scotland, between Trump and the president of the Ursula von der Leenen Commission, which limits US tariffs for EU goods to 15%.
On Monday, the Commission sought to project a sense of calm.
