Witnesses of the Saradan massacre: The 12-year prison sentence for Ekrem Bajrovijk is ridiculous

Witnesses of the Saradan massacre by the municipality of Istog have expressed disappointment over the decision of the Pristina Foundation Court, which even in the retrial has sentenced him to 12 years in prison, Ekrem Bajrovijin, accused of war crimes during 1998-1999.

Naim Elshani, the witness said this decision is ridiculous, showing that he still carries wounds from the torture he received, reports Online Economy, broadcast Periscope.

I disagree with this decision. This decision is ridiculous. 12 years of imprisonment takes on a criminal whom I witnessed in crime, torture, and torture, I experienced them where my wounds still bleed today. I mean, it's awful. I disagree with that decision. Yeah, believe that's what the Serbs shot me twice. Today I am being shot even by Albanians, perhaps even by the courts. So I have no insurance, no protection, every day I am threatened by people who do not want good for Kosovo. I've been in danger several times. I've been looking for protection from the prosecutor, so I haven't had enough protection. I even at my expense, hundreds of times I've been here for five years. I've been looking for a witness transport. Witnesses who were persecuted during the 1990s and 1999 ' s do not come. I mean, this is where I disagree with this decision. Twelve years in prison is very little. 12 years in prison a mad war criminal, this is crazy. No, no justice, I don't see justice. I don't know where justice is. As far as I know, I suffer the consequences. I don't know that 27 years I can sleep five minutes because of my pain. I don't have what I added. I salute you media, I greet Albanians. I don't have anything to add to the”, Elshani said.

Disappointed is the other witness, Ylber Lipa.

Despite extension, extension of the process, at least four of us as witnesses from the 32 we are today, we are dissatisfied with the decision, although we bear in mind that the laws of the time with which it was condemned, the maximum sentence is 15 years. This shows that the 12-year sentence that has been served in the second degree has been confirmed following criminal lawyer Bajrovic's complaint. However, we must agree and build trust in our courts. As much as the law has seen, as the court has foretold, and we have nothing to do. E The evil of all of this is not supporting witnesses from the state. The interest of witnesses to come, no matter the circumstances we've faced, not just cost, but with all the consequences. In the concrete case of Naim as the chief witness, he faces health problems, with consequences and psychological trauma, as well as with all others. We hope that justice, however late, will fall into place. We hope that as soon as our country is organised, it will be empowered and not stopped in the investigation and discovery of criminals. That's it, he said. /Periscope/
