CEC strengthens control against vote manipulation

The investigation into 109 commissionors detained for allegations of misuse of votes, as well as preparations for the June 7th elections, have raised the issue of the integrity and transparency of the election process in the country. Meanwhile, institutions and the CEC have warned new measures and regulations for managing the election process.
Within just one day, 109 commissionors were detained, including family members of MPs in the December 28th early elections. Some were sent to restraint, under suspicion of misuse of votes.
Four months later, the investigative process has not yet been completed, while the country is preparing for the June 7th elections.
The CEC says the election of commissionors will be treated carefully, but persons under investigation are not barred from involvement in the process.
To a large extent, this is also determined by the names political parties will send.

The number of regulations amended for the June 7th elections has reached four, while at this stage the Central Election Commission is expected to not be met with the last member from the ranks of political parties.
During the day, President Albulen Hadziu spoke on the matter.
