Three Pristina municipality officials suspected of accepting bribes released from custody

The three Pristina municipality officials who were arrested under suspicion of misuse of official office and bribery have been changed the detention measure. Two of them have been replaced by the provision of the ban to approach the country or the designated person, and one has reached a plea agreement. They were suspected of two criminal abuses of office and bribery.

The Sadiku Union, Dukagjin Gashi and Afrim Gashi, the three Pristina municipality officials who were arrested in January of this year under suspicion of “Using official position or authority” and “Taking bribes”, have been released from custody.

The Constitutional Court in Pristina has announced that they have changed the detention measure at the request of the prosecution.

“With the PPRKR decision.r.20/2026 of the date 13,02.2026, has approved the Constitutional Prosecutor's request in Pristina X Randa Crime Department, as well as for defendants D.G. and B.S. The detention measure has been replaced with the measure of ban to approach the country or the designated person. The measure began in 13,02,2026 at the length of 13,04,2026. And with suspect Africa Gashi, the prosecutor said they have reached agreement on admitting guilt.

“And for defendants D.G. and B.S., we are awaiting examinations of the” expertise, the Prosecutor's State Department says.

The three defendants, according to the prosecution, have allegedly asked the injured to pay a lot of means in order to pay for the jobs his company has performed in Pristina, over the tender for maintenance of roads during the winter season.
