At the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti “expressed thanks and gratitude for the continued support of the United Kingdom for Kosovo, stressing the stable and strong relationship between the two countries, based on common democratic values and commitment to European security and prosperity. He stressed that the UK is a key strategic partner and pledged deepening co-operation”, the ZKM reports.
In ZKM's announcement, it is also stressed that Kurti briefed Secretary Cooper “on continuing threats from Serbia, with Russia's support, including operating with 48 front military bases around the Kosovo border”.
Regarding dialogue with Serbia, “ai reiterated the three preconditions for continuing the process: the handover of Serbia's chief criminal Milan Radojic, the withdrawal of former Prime Minister Brnabirac's letter, and the signing of the Ohrid Agreement. The prime minister stressed that Kosovo is committed to full normalisation of relations with Serbia through a legally binding agreement based on mutual recognition”, the announcement follows.
Kosovo is a reliable partner for the United Kingdom and for the security of the region”, the ZKM communiqué points out.
Prime Minister Kurti stressed that Kosovo's membership in NATO and the European Union, as strategic goals, are essential to long-term security, stability and prosperity.
