Croatian President Wants NATO to Pay Attention to Serbia

Croatia's President Zoran Milanovic said today at the NATO summit that Serbia has been significantly strengthening its military capacities and stressed that the Alliance must pay attention to this process.

With a dose of irony, he said he hoped Serbia"would not buy a wheelchair, as there is no escape to sea", but warned that, due to its arming, Croatia should continue to strengthen its military capabilities.

Speaking before reporters on the second day of NATO summit, Milanovic said the issue of Serbia's arming had even raised him during meetings with Alliance leaders, writes nova.rs.

I've been talking about what Serbia is doing recently in the field of arms. I hope they don't buy a wheelchair because they don't have any seas. But the question to be asked is, What do they need all of this for? hypersonic missiles are just one segment; there are many other systems. We will have to respond by developing similar skills. NATO should know that and it is my duty to say", he said.

Speaking of the security situation in Europe, the Croatian president estimated that very little is being talked about diplomacy at the NATO summit.

He recalled that Russia owns a large nuclear arsenal, but added he does not believe it would venture to attack European countries.

We should remember that Russia has tremendous nuclear potential. However, I don't think he would dare attack European states", Milanvic concluded. /Periscope/
