Kosovo benefits 206.4m euros from EU funds

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has announced that Kosovo will benefit a total of 206.4m euros from European Union funds, destined for projects in different strategic sectors.
According to him, the Committee of Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) approved Kosovo-proposed projects under the IPA 2026 and IPA 2027 programmes, worth 180.5m euros, on 7 July.
Their implementation will begin after the European Commission's approval procedures and ratification of the Financial Agreement in the Assembly are completed.
Kurti announced that funds will be invested in priority areas, including environment and climate, energy, border management and migration, competitiveness, education, employment, good governance, access to the European Union and rule of law.

Good news for citizens. Kosovo benefits 206.4m euros from EU funds.
Yesterday, on July 7th, the European Union officially announced that the IPA Committee has approved projects proposed by Kosovo under the IPA 2026 and IPA 2027 programmes, worth 180.5m euros. Following approval by the European Commission and then signing and ratification of the Financial Agreement from the Parliament, projects will begin implementation.
The funds will support the country's priority areas:
• Environment and climate 44m euros;
• Energy ʹ 34.5m euros;
• Border management and migration 30.5m euros;
• Competition, education and employment: 31.8m euros;
• Good governance and EU approach (24.7m euros);
• Law rule: 15 million euros.
About half of the funds will go for infrastructure investments. Most projects will be realised in combination with other development partners and co-financed by our institutions.
In addition to the 2026 and IPA 2027 projects, 3 grants have been approved from the Investment Frame for the Western Balkans (WBIF), worth a total of 25.9m euros:
Iber-Lepenc Hydrosystem technical assistance to prepare infrastructure investment;
) Qafa Highway of DuhlâBanula technical assistance for preparing the highway segment;
The Podujevo sewage treatment facility ídujevo investment grant of 24.3m euros, in co-operation with the BERZH.
