Monument Management Agency requires investigation after damage to the “Zahir Pajaziti” complex

The Agency for the Management of Monuments and Memorial Confusions (AMMKM) has announced that it has officially requested the launch of investigations concerning injuries caused at the Mertoal complex “Zahir Pajazitin” in Orlan.
According to the Agency's announcement, following the report on injuries, Executive Director on July 6th 2026 has filed a request for the initiative of investigations in the Kosovo Police, the Regional Police Directorate in Pristina and the Police Station in Podujevo, respectively.
This requirement is based on the Penal Code provisions of the Republic of Kosovo, respectively, Article 354, which envisions that damage, destruction or breach of protected cultural, historical and religious monuments constitutes criminal acts and is followed and condemned according to legislation”, it is said in the announcement of AMMM.
The agency has made it known that it is under management of the Memorial Complex “The Tower of Zahir Pajazit” in Orlan under a public framework contract that has entered into force on August 28th 2025 and is valid until August 28, 2028.
And so, AMMKM has announced that it is implementing the “Emergency Interventions in Komplex and Memorialal, Witnesses and Martyrs' Tombs Kosovo ʹ Emergency Interventions at KM . Zahir Pajazit's Tower, Orlaan Podujevo”, with the aim of maintaining and improving the condition of the complex.
“Under the project that is being implemented and in co-operation with competent institutions, the Agency will consider all opportunities for the sancing of injuries, in line with the legal and administrative procedures in force”, the agency is further said in the statement.
The AMMM has indicated that public opinion will be announced for further developments following the admission of the official report by the law bodies and responsible institutions.
