Kurt again excludes the LDK from the combination for president: We need at least 84 or 85 votes

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, after completing his meeting with Democratic League of Kosovo chairman (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, has said he is optimistic about electing the country's president. “We are set to avoid new elections, because new elections will not be a solution to the number of 80 deputies... while we have no challenge to the number of 61 deputies for forming the government, but it is a huge challenge for a party to have 81 deputies and elect the president himself. You know we've been trying before and you know that our candidate has been formalized and so has its counter-Candidate Fatmir Mulhrama-Kolcak, and we are now where we are”.
I continue to be optimistic that with such meetings and conversations we can reach agreements. Now we're leaders of subjects that are democratic and we're taxmakers in the process and we need to maintain the privacy of the meetings. As long as we're at this stage we're always going to let you know about the meetings but we're not going to tell you about the concrete names that no deal has been reached”, Kurti said.
He before the media stressed that only a majority of 84 or 85 deputies would make it comfortable to elect the president.
“I continue to have the same position if we have a single name we are aiming at 80 or 81 votes in the hall, it's a very large row. Only an 84 or 85 majority will make the election of President” comfortable, Kurti said. /Periscope
