Iranian state media report that five people were killed in an attack on an Iranian petrochemical complex, which Israel says produces a “critical subponent” for its ballistic missiles.
Israeli Defence Forces say the attack on the facility in Mahshahr, southwest of Iran, occurred earlier Saturday.
According to them, it is one of two main objects in Iran that produce explosives materials and other weapons, the BBC writes.
An Iranian official for the region said five people were killed by the attack, while another 170 are being treated for injuries, according to the Fars news agency, linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
