Several years ago, he had protected Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, who was falsely accused by journalist Chuck Sudelic.
Journalist Chuck Sudelic had charged KLA leaders, more precisely Hashim Thaci, with involvement in illegal activities, such as drug smuggling.
This writing had been reacted to by Congressman Eliot Engel, who quoted the CIA report, who dismissed claims that the KLA was funded with funds that originated from smuggling drugs.
The CIA reported to the U.S. Congress committee at the request of Congressman Engel.
“Leadership of KLA does not seem to have engaged in narcotics operations to support its activities during the war...”, says the report.
