US launch attacks on Iran following tank attack on Hormuz Strait

The US has launched a series of powerful “attacks on Iran in response to attacks on three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
American Central Command (Centcom) said on Tuesday that it had launched the attack, “to impose high costs for targeting and attacking commercial ships equipped with innocent individuals on an international waterway”, reports BBC.
The tankers were damaged within a 24-hour period on Monday and Tuesday, according to the United Kingdom Marine Trade Operations (UKMTO).
Earlier Tuesday, an American official said Iran would face consequences and called attacks “totally unacceptable”.
Iran has not claimed responsibility for attacks on tankers.
Centcom said in a statement posted on X that US attacks were “in response to Iranian attacks”.
The demonstrated Iran aggression was unjustified, dangerous and a clear violation of the” ceasefire, she said.
The American official, who spoke on condition of anonymity prior to Centcom's announcement, insisted that American negotiators will continue working with “good confidence” towards a final agreement with Iran. /Periscope
