An explosion of the oxygen tank in Apollo's 13th mission wiped out any hope of a land crash in April 1970, with the survival of the crew perpetuated in 1995, with protagonist Tom Hanks.
Many people know, as a result of the film, that Apollo 13 used maneuver called “stingshot” to return to Earth despite the damage caused by the explosion.
“singshot”
Known as a cheap lunar trajector, this non-stop route to Earth exploits Earth and moon gravity, reducing the need for fuel.
This time, for Artemis II, it's a planned part of the mission, reports Telegraph, broadcast Periscope.
There's a celestial maneuver that's going to put astronauts on the way home once they leave after the moon tonight.
Otherwise, Apollo 13's mission reported its explosion while the spaceship was 321,868 from Earth.
Commander Jim Lovell and two other astronauts aboard Fred Hayes and Jack Swigert barely survived. /Periscope
