University Student Parliament Speaker “Mother Teresa” in Skopje, Besar Sejdiu, has called for broad civic support to a peaceful protest to be held Monday in the capital of Northern Macedonia.
According to the announcement, the protest will begin at 12:30 from the Stone Bridge. Students call for realisation of the right to give the Albanian-language jurisdiction exam, a right that, as stressed, is guaranteed by the Constitution and by law, but still not implemented in practice, reports the KP, broadcasts Periscope
Sejdiu has declared that the lack of implementation of this right for years is creating serious obstacles for Albanian students, directly affecting their academic and professional advancement.
He has named this issue more than an individual or political problem, stressing that it is a major cause related to equality and respect of fundamental rights.
In this context, it has called on citizens, institutions and all social acts to support the protest and participate in it.
Organisers have announced that the protest will be held peacefully and dignifiedly, with the aim of sensibising public opinion and addressing student requests at the respective institutions. /Periscope
