Agon Zamenu case: autopsy report submitted to prosecution, family pending justice

The last breath was given into the hands of the police.

But the case of the death of 27-year-old Agon Zejnullahu on July 7th 2025 in downtown Lipjan has not yet received epilogue.

The DA's file raised serious doubts.

Five police officials, who at first arrested the deceased, allegedly took the young man's life by default and interaction.

And as long as the suspects are at large, the Zejnou's family is desperate to wait for justice.

I go home every day, I always get the same parent question, is there anything new? It's also very heavy for everyone else that we're not looking at their hands at the state of”, said Alban Zejnullahu, a brother of Agon Zeinsu.

However, a step towards clarifying the case has already been taken.

Some samples of toxicology sent abroad have already reached the site, but for these developments, there is little family knowledge.

We don't have any information, the only information we get is from the media. We expect that as soon as the truth dawns, this is very important for our family”, Zejnullahu added to it.

The Dukaagini Institute of Legal Medicine for Television confirmed that the final report will be concluded within April.

“In the treatment and assessment of this case are included field experts different from legal medicine, including legal physician, hetopatologist and toxicologist. Given the complexity of the case and the involvement of experts, the evaluation process has required more time. Currently, the case is located in the final phase of the professional assessment, while the final report is expected to be completed within April and, in line with legal procedures in force, will be handed over to the prosecutor of the case”, the IML has said.

And immediately, the Pristina Constitutional Prosecutor, who holds the case, confirmed that he accepted the report in question.

The Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina has confirmed that this institution has accepted the autopsy report from the Law Medicine Institute and is currently in the screening phase, being in procedure. As far as the state prosecutor is concerned, according to the Foundation, he is taking all relevant measures and actions for the full lighting of this case.

Alleged in this case are officials Ibrahim Nela, Albian Retkoceri, Artion Kondzheli, Liridon Nundmann and Andrew Beqiri.

The same had been arrested and sent to custody to be released with a Court of Appeals ruling, while still suspended since July 7th last year.

The case, had prompted a wave of reactions and affected the police hierarchy, among other things, had led to the resignation of the regional police commander for the Lipjan region, Silver Gashi.
