According to the LDK, so far meetings between political subjects have had consultative characters, with the aim of finding a common candidate for the president's post.
However, this party estimates that consensus cannot be built as a political race, with one side proposing names and others invited only to support.
The LDK emphasises that consensus implies a joint process of discussion and agreement on a figure representing institutional unity and enjoys broad parliamentary support.

The Democratic League of Kosovo has always believed that the process of electing the president of the Republic of Kosovo should be developed with full seriousness and institutional responsibilities, as well as in the true spirit of consensus requiring the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.
The so-called meetings between political subjects have been consultative, aimed at finding a consensus candidate for this important state position.
Consensus is not a political race and cannot be built as a process in which one side proposes names, while others are invited only to support them. Consensus implies a joint process of discussion and agreement on a figure that represents the country's institutional unity and enjoys broad parliamentary confidence.
Access Vetevendosje Movement! does not reflect a serious effort to build this consensus. Rather, it treats this process as a political race, not as an attempt to reach political agreement. Such an approach serves neither the spirit of the Constitution nor the need of the country for institutional stability.
The LDK estimates that the way this process has been developed on the part of the VV does not create the conditions for electing the president and does not prove literal intention to reach a broad political agreement. The election of the president is a process that requires caution, responsibility and true will for co-operation among parliamentary subjects.
In this spirit, the Democratic League of Kosovo regrets that, because of this irresponsible political approach, the country is heading towards passing constitutional deadlines and risks being sent to even a new party of elections, instead of achieving institutional stability, which our citizens expect and deserve.
