Netanyah cancels planned trip to Washington next week

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has cancelled his planned trip to Washington next week, his office said today.
In a statement, the office said the funeral of US Senator Lindsey Graham"appears to have been postponed by the end of the month".
"As a result, the prime minister will not travel to the US next week", she added.
Israeli public broadcaster KAN reported on Wednesday that Netanyah was expected to leave for Washington on Saturday, meet with US President Donald Trump on Monday, and attend Graham's funeral on Tuesday, AA reports, broadcast Periscope.
Later Wednesday, the US news agency Axios, citing a senior White House official, reported that no meeting between Trump and Netanyah was on the president's programme for next week.
The annulment comes despite close US-Israel ties, which have recently been strained by differences over regional policy.
Trump has called for a withdrawal of Israel from Lebanon and Syria, while Netanyah has rejected such an act. /Periscope
